Here's my next newbie question.
I'd like to invest in a designated cooled deep space camera.
There are so many to choose from, it makes my head spin.
The camera I listed in the subject heading fits my budget but I have no idea whether it would be a good choice for me. I have the Redcat 51.
What questions do I need to be asking before I pull the trigger on this item?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I checked with OPT and they actually said, about the non-mini version "this version has a bigger sensor and would offer a bigger field of view for your images". So that answers that question. However, I agree with the thought of getting the standard, wide field version. It's not that much more and the cost of 1599 is pretty good for all that you get. I want those H,S and O filters!
The one I listed is the "mini monochrome" and is on sale for 1280 right now. the 1600MM is 1599. So i'm looking at a difference of $300. I don't know what is "mini" about the mini version. should I spend the extra 300?
Thank. That’s great! Thanks for the quick reply.
The ZWO ASI1600MM is an all-time favorite by many astrophotographers. This is by far the most popular monochrome camera out there, and is excellent for the price. Last year ZWO released an upgraded version of this camera, the ASI2600MM. It is exactly the same but it has a better resolution, noise, etc... and of course a higher price.
You really can't go wrong with the 1600MM so I would suggest to go with that one and save that extra money for either better filters down the road or some telescope accessories! 👍🏻
