What is the advantage of a mirrorless DSLR?
How big of a disadvantage is it using a DSLR that has a mirror?
Are there ways to overcoming any of these disadvantages?

I have another advantage for mirrorless cameras (as compared with DSLRs)--their live-view screens are infinitely better for achieving focus on distant stars than a DSLR, or at least I find that to be the case when comparing my 5DMkIV with my R5 (both Canon, of course).
